- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
Professor Simon Conn is an NHMRC Investigator Leadership Fellow and Head of the Circular RNAs in Cancer Laboratory at Flinders University, South Australia within the Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute (FHMRI). His laboratory investigates how circular RNAs regulate development and drive cancers, particularly brain tumours and his discoveries have reshaped scientific understanding of non-coding RNA function and opened new avenues for precision medicine to improve cancer survival. Simon is listed in the top 2% of global scientists (since 2019), publishing in top journals such as Cell, Cancer Cell, Nature Biotechnology, Nature Plants, Nature Cell Biology, Nature Reviews Cancer. He has held prestigious fellowships in Australia and Europe, received multiple awards including the Tall Poppy of South Australia, and currently also serves as Lead of FHMRI Bioplatforms and Bioresources. He has been awarded over $16M in competitive research grants as chief investigator holding continuous fellowships for over 15 years.
